ACCURACY & ACCOUNTABILITY
Corrections Policy
NewsVerto aims to correct material factual errors clearly and fairly. This policy sets out how correction requests should be considered.
How to raise a concern
Use the verified contact route listed on Contact Us when it is available. Provide the article URL, the passage in question, an explanation of the alleged error and reliable supporting evidence. Do not send unnecessary sensitive personal information.
How requests are assessed
Review the disputed claim against its original sources and any new evidence. Distinguish factual errors from differences of opinion. Seek clarification where necessary and consider relevant responses fairly. A correction request does not automatically establish that an error occurred.
Correcting the record
Where a material factual error is established, amend the article and add a clear note explaining the correction and its date. Minor spelling or formatting fixes may be made without a separate note if they do not change meaning. If new information changes the assessment, identify it as an update.
Serious concerns
If the central basis of an article cannot be supported, consider a prominent clarification, withdrawal or replacement, with an explanation appropriate to the issue. Do not silently change a substantive conclusion.
