OUR STANDARDS
Editorial Policy
NewsVerto aims to publish clear, accurate and useful reporting about websites, online safety, technology, business and digital life. This policy sets the standard for future reporting and for reviewing existing coverage.
Sources and factual checks
Factual claims should be checked against relevant, current evidence. Prefer original documents, official records, published policies and first-hand material where available. Identify the sources that support important findings and explain when reliable evidence is incomplete or unavailable.
Facts, allegations and opinion
Distinguish confirmed information, attributed allegations, user accounts and editorial analysis. Do not describe a website or company as fraudulent without credible supporting evidence. Use qualified wording where facts are disputed or uncertain, and consider relevant responses from the subject of serious criticism.
Editorial independence
Commercial relationships must not determine factual findings or review conclusions. Any sponsorship, affiliate relationship, free product or other material connection relevant to an article should be disclosed clearly. Advertising and sponsored material must be recognisable as such.
User reports and review claims
User feedback can highlight issues worth examining, but it is not proof by itself. Consider the date, detail, independence and consistency of accounts. Do not fabricate ratings, testimonials, trust scores or testing experience. State the scope of any hands-on testing accurately.
Use of technology
Any tools used to assist research or writing should support accountable editorial work. Sources, quotations and substantive claims require verification. AI-generated assertions or images must not be presented as documentary evidence.
Updates and corrections
Use accurate publication and update dates. Explain material corrections and revise assessments when new evidence changes the findings. See our Corrections Policy and Review Methodology.
